<p>I just got back from my 7 week trip to Thailand, Vietnam, Spain, U.K, Los Vegas and L.A which was awesome.</p>
<p>The highlight of the trip was a plane/helicopter/boat ride of the Grand Canyon&#8230; I definitely recommend it if you&#8217;re ever over that way.</p>

<p><span id="more-269"></span>The boot camps continued while I was away&#8230; thanks to Helen and the trainers for holding the fort. It&#8217;s good to come back refreshed with everything running smoothly&#8230; so thank you!</p>
<p>Well&#8230; I was going to say that winter is nearly behind us but if this mornings performance is anything to go by I&#8217;m not so sure, City2surf does however usually mark the start to some finer weather&#8230; so fingers crossed.</p>
<p>If you need to get in shape for summer don&#8217;t leave it to the last minute coz it&#8217;s gonna take a few months so<strong> now&#8217;s the time to start.</strong></p>

<p>As most of you know I&#8217;ve been off most of this month with another miss-hap&#8230; anyway I&#8217;m all good and started training again at the boot camps this week:-)</p>
<p>Ive really missed getting up early and starting the day with some exercise and fresh air, so it&#8217;s great to be back!</p>
<p>The mornings are a couple of degrees colder but in my opinion you can&#8217;t beat sunrise in Sydney.<br />

<p>Well done to everyone who started The <a href="http://bootcampsydney.com.au/blog/2010/04/13/city-to-surf-running-program/" target="_blank">City To Surf Running Group</a>, Ali tells me it&#8217;s been going awesome! <strong>If you&#8217;re not yet involved&#8230; it&#8217;s still not to late to jump in.</strong></p>
<p>The <a href="http://www.personal-trainers-sydney.com.au/Boot_Camp_Queens_Park_Centennial.php" target="_blank">Centennial Park boot camp</a> is still going ahead but won&#8217;t be starting till mid-August, Ill give you a heads up a few weeks before we kick off.<span id="more-205"></span></p>
<p>There&#8217;s a few things going on this month so with further ado&#8230;</p>

</strong> Each month we&#8217;ll be choosing a client of the month and the best success story will receive some cool prizes.</p>

The Results are in for last months boot camp fitness test!</p>
<p><strong></strong> The girls at Rushcutters Bay came out on top with two of the best overall results&#8230; we&#8217;ll done to you and everyone else who took part! Here are the top performers&#8230;</p>
<p><strong>1. Maximum Push Ups In 60 seconds:</strong> Alex from the CBD camp did the most push ups cranking out 62.</p>
<p><strong>2. Max Plank hold:</strong> Emma from Rushcutters Bay held the plank for 4.31 seconds.</p>
<p><strong>3. Beep test:</strong> Ruth from Rushcutters Bay got 10.7 on the beep test. Well done guy&#8217;s &#8211; you&#8217;ll all receive a Dangerously Fit pack, we&#8217;ll get those out to you next week.</p>

<p><strong>Fitness Test</strong><br />
Maximum push ups in 60 seconds<br />
Maximum plank hold<br />
1000 metre run</p>
<p><strong>Partner workout</strong><br />
Partner up with someone of a similar fitness level, 2 exercises per station, 1 partner performs one exercise and the other partner performs the second exercise. At the end of the 60 seconds compare rep count and change exercises &#8211; try to perform more reps than your partner.</p>
<p>Station 1. Push ups and squats<br />
Station 2. Squat thrusts and barrier jump<br />
Station 3. Dips and step ups<br />
Station 4. Burpees and Mountain climbers<br />
Station 5. Sit ups and lunges</p>

Split camps into pairs, depending on size of group set out a 6-10 station circuit. Spend 60 seconds on each station, 15 seconds rest between exercises.<br />
1. Partner Med-ball Push ups<br />
2. Partner Med-ball Sit ups<br />
3. Partner Squat and Med-ball Pass<br />
4. Partner Sandbag Pass<br />
5. Partner Kettlebell Sprints<br />
6. Plank<br />
7. Kettlebell Swings<br />
8. Partner Russian Twists</p>
